A good pitch certainly helps - especially one you can give to a prospective investor in less than a minute, a skill that won Elon University junior Brian Serow top prize in a contest at the 2011 MIT Global Startup Workshop in Seoul, South Korea.
Elon senior brings ‘Lemonade Day’ to Alamance County

Running a lemonade stand can be the first step toward a business career, as hundreds of children will discover Saturday when they set up shop across Alamance County as part of the national ‘Lemonade Day’ project. For Tim Porter, however, Lemonade Day means so much more, and the Elon University senior believes what kids have already learned through his efforts will stay with them forever.

Elon Phoenix baseball team captures share of SoCon Title

The Elon Phoenix secured a share of its fourth Southern Conference regular-season title, and third in four years, by rallying for four runs in the bottom of the eight for an 8-7 win over the visiting Furman Paladins on May 19. The win was the 11th for Elon in its final at bat this season.

Six Elon athletics teams earn top academic honors

Six Elon athletics teams rank among the nation’s top 10 percent in their sports in the annual NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) report. The Elon Phoenix men’s basketball, women’s cross country, women’s golf, women’s indoor and outdoor track and volleyball teams are among the NCAA Division I teams receiving public recognition awards for their APR scores, the NCAA announced May 17.
