Associate professor of psychology and Coordinator of African and African-American Studies, Buffie Longmire-Avital gave an invited talk titled, “'I Fought so Hard to Get Here?': Navigating Microaggressions in Historically White Spaces."

The associate professor of psychology and coordinator of African and African-American Studies at Elon gave a talk titled “A Comparative Exploration of Depressive Symptomatology among Black and White Collegiate Women.” 

A lineup of events in February will honor African-American contributions to the campus and the world as Elon University celebrates Black History Month.

Paxus Calta, former lead organizer for Friends of the Earth International, presents an interactive workshop on "Imaginative Activism: Creativity and Social Movements in an Era of Polarization." The event is at 5:30pm in Lindner Hall, Room 102

Robert Bullard, described as the father of environmental justice, delivers an Earth Day lecture titled "Climate Change as a Human Rights Issue: Why Equity Matters" in McKinnon Hall, Moseley Center at 7:30 p.m.

The co-authored research from the lecturer in the Department of Politcal Science and Policy Studies appeared in the Third World Quarterly peer reviewed journal

Four faculty members and 19 retirees were honored May 11 for excellence and service to Elon.

Theologian Kelly Brown Douglas will address the Elon community on the topic of "Stand Your Ground," the subject of her most recent book.
