Fitzpatrick is the director of communications for Drifter's Hearts of Hope, a nonprofit horse rescue organization in Douglas County, Colorado committed to circumventing the horse-slaughter pipeline.

The generous estate gift from The Rev. Joyce Myers-Brown ’59 of Atlanta will deepen funding for a scholarship she established in 2011 to increase access to global study. The gift is part of A Will to Lead, a special initiative of the Elon LEADS Campaign to encourage donors to include the university in their estate plans.

Kris Jiles ’15, Kelli Palmer ’98, Brittany Carroll ’11, Marilyn Slade and Steve Walker ’93 were honored Nov. 6 during the Elon Black Alumni Network’s 25th Anniversary Awards Brunch.

Attendance was high for the three-day event which included twice the number of reunion celebrations and a host of entertainment, academic and athletic events.
