North Carolina State Capitol representatives honored Elon Alumnus Ray Beck ’75 on June 1 when he retired as the capitol’s historical researcher and site manager after more than 30 years.

Rain clouds gave way to a crystal blue sky as the 118th Commencement exercises got underway May 24, 2008, when bachelor degrees were conferred on the largest graduating class in Elon University history.

Elon alumna Katherine Southard was named 2nd runner up this month in the 2008 Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant, two years after surgery to correct a spinal condition that threatened her heart and lungs.
