Students in the Ecological Art course present 'Maps of the Unseen: Narratives on Elon,' an exhibit of interpretive maps currently on display in the hallways of Center for the Arts.

They are common stereotypes of Africa often portrayed in media: poverty, AIDS, a “primitiveness” of people who live there. As Elon University senior Maggie Pahos prepared for a semester abroad in Ghana, she wanted to find ways to dispel those stereotypes through her own research, photography and creative writing, and her project is the latest to be featured in a series of E-net profiles on Lumen Scholars in the Class of 2011.

Evan A. Gatti, an assistant professor in the Department of Art and Art History, presented "The Bishop's Two Bodies and the Image In-Between" at the Midwest Art History Society's annual conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan on April 15.

Twenty-four photographs from around the globe are on display throughout Belk Library as a gift to Elon University from North Carolina photographer John T. Giancotti.
