Black History Month

The concert will feature live music and extraordinary performances choreographed by Robin Gee, Sean Hunter, Ronald Lavender Jr., Eli Motley, Godson Atsu Sokpor, Maurice Watson and Keshia Wall.

More than 75 students, alumni and industry guests attended the alumni panel that addressed leadership, professional relationships, advocacy in the modern workplace and the importance of self-reflection.

The North Carolina poet laureate, Green delivered the keynote address and sparks Black joy at the 2022 Black Solidarity Conference.

Founded in 2019, the a cappella group helps Black students at Elon connect and strengthen their community.

Bryant Colson '80, who was the first Black student to be elected SGA president and to serve as editor-in-chief of The Pendulum, spoke to the Elon community during the Black History Month Kickoff event on Feb. 1.

The Center for Race, Ethnicity and Diversity Education’s 7th annual Black Solidarity Day Conference aimed to unite Black-identifying students, faculty and staff by exploring Black identity and intersectionality.

Faculty and community members spoke of the legacy of grief and terror spawned by ongoing racial inequity and violence. Elon University must address its past and accelerate change for justice and equality, they said.

The performance is directed by Assistant Professor of Performing Arts Keshia Wall and will be streamed at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 26 and 27 at elonperformingarts.com.
