The Baird Lecture is part of the 2024-25 Elon Speaker Series.

Accomplished leaders in sports, media, ethics and the United States military will engage with students and deliver public remarks next year as featured guests of the 2025-2026 Elon University Speaker Series.

Elon University is featuring a variety of photos every month to highlight the exceptional learning, work and activities of students, faculty and staff.

Maya Kilburn will perform with her father, pianist Ray Kilburn, in Yeager Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31. Their recital opens the weekend piano competition for high school musicians, which is sponsored by the Department of Music.

Pulitzer Prize winner Jonathan Eig, author of “King: A Life,” delivered the Elon University Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Address and Liberal Arts Forum Lecture on Jan. 9, presenting a more comprehensive and human view of the famed civil rights leader.

Elon University conferred nearly 100 degrees from the School of Health Sciences on Dec. 13 in Alumni Gym.

Elon University held Lavender Graduation, ¡Celebremos! and Donning of the Kente, on Dec. 12 for winter graduates in the School of Law and School of Health Sciences.

Mullen delivered the inaugural Carol Ann Walker International Lecture on Nov. 11, one of several events at Elon University, to honor those in the armed forces on Veterans Day.
