Cultural Programs

The annual two-day jazz festival will feature three guest artists who will engage with student ensembles from area middle and high schools and Elon's university jazz ensemble. 

Elon University Lyceum Series hosts the brass ensemble at 7:30 p.m. concert in McCrary Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Free! no ticket required.

"Using community-based participatory research with Montagnards to explore lingering effects of the Vietnam War" with Catherine Bush. 

The department's winter production runs Thursday through Saturday, with performances at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. in McCrary Theatre. 

Steven Labadessa's work is confrontational and raw and arises from a deep interest in stark realism. An artist talk and opening reception will be held at Gallery 406, Arts West on Monday, Feb. 11, at 5:30 p.m. 

In conjunction with The Religious Body Imagined symposium, an exhibition of Christian, Hindu and Buddhist figures will be on view in Numen Lumen Pavilion with an opening reception on Friday, Feb. 8, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The keynote address for the "Religious Body Reimagined" symposium will be given by S. Brent Plate and sponsored by the Elon Center for the Study of Religion, Culture and Society. 

Service opportunities, gatherings and other special programs at Elon during January will commemorate the life and work of the late civil rights leader. 

Hill, a professor at Brandeis University and head of the Hollywood Commission on Sexual Harassment and Advancing Equality in the Workplace, will deliver the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Address on Jan. 10. 

Green's "Something Must be Done About Prince Edward County" is Elon's Common Reading selection for 2018-19. Her visit is hosted by the Elon Core Curriculum and the Office of Cultural and Special Programs.
