New verse of Elon’s alma mater performed at Convocation

Composed by Associate Professor Stephen A. Futrell in the Department of Music, a “celebratory verse” that originally debuted as part of the university’s Ever Elon fundraising campaign was formally recognized this spring as a permanent addition to the institution’s alma mater.

Beloved by generations of students and alumni who know him as “Dr. D,” the university’s president emeritus on April 2 will share stories and reflections of his seven decades at Elon and his hopes for its future. Tickets are now available at the Center for the Arts Box Office and are $13 each or free with an Elon ID.

Geshe Gelek Chodha, resident teacher at the Kadampa Center for the practice of Tibetan Buddhism in the Gelugpa Tradition from Raleigh, will be at Elon on Thursday, April 3, in the Numen Lumen Pavilion.
