Gautam Gupta, who launched the healthy snacks company in 2012, delivered the C. Ashton Newhall Endowed Lecture in LaRose Digital Theatre on Thursday, Nov. 14.

The students join a global community of Fellows charged with increasing campus engagement with innovation, entrepreneurship, design thinking and creativity.

The title of Gupta's talk is "The Real 'Silicon Valley' — Lessons learned from Creating, Building, Advising and Investing in the World of Technology and Startups."

The retreat focused on helping students unlock their ability to make community change through social entrepreneurship.

The 14th annual Economic Summit, hosted by the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce and presented by Elon University, brought together local business leaders to discuss innovation and growth in Alamance County and beyond.

Through historical site visits and company tours, students grasp the inherent ties between business and culture.
