Alan Russell receives grant from the Japan Foundation

Alan Russell, associate professor of mathematics, received a grant from the Japan Foundation's Center for Global Partnership. The grant supports his work, "Origami as a Gateway for the Study of Japanese Culture and Society," allows him to strengthen and deepen his work with Clover Garden School, a K-12 charter school in northern Alamance County.

Senior Bridget Kelly presents, wins major award at UK conference

Senior Bridget Kelly, an independent dance science major, and Caroline Ketcham, assistant professor of exercise science, presented research titled "The biomechanical differences between novice and advanced dancers when performing tendus, dégagés, and battements" at the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science on Oct. 29 in Birmingham, England.

Jeffrey Coker named next director of General Studies Program

Associate professor Jeffrey Coker has been named the next director of Elon’s General Studies Program and will observe and assist the current director, professor Janet Warman, during 2010-11 before assuming full duties in the fall of 2011.
