The Alamance County Chamber of Commerce is hosting two upcoming candidate forums in October.

Tuesday, September 29 at 9 p.m.

The junior cinema and television arts major served as a camera operator, voice actor and lead editor for an Alamance County Board of Elections’ training video project.

The university’s nonpartisan campus initiative to promote voting and civic engagement is hosting a series of debate watch parties, information sessions and other events to prepare students for the Nov. 3 election.

The student organization is also hosting four debate watch parties and encouraging students to host their own small debate watch parties while continuing its voter registration and voter education efforts.

The Alamance County Board of Elections is hosting early voting from Oct. 15 - 31.

Thursday, October 22 at 9 p.m. in the Moseley Student Center

Organizations across Elon’s campus have lots of plans in place for spending time out of the classroom.

As part of Habitat for Humanity’s efforts to raise awareness of housing insecurity in Alamance County, students from the Elon University Campus Chapter of Habitat hosted a discussion forum on affordable housing at the Oak House in Elon. N.C. Sen. Rick Gunn and Sonyé N. Randolph, community development administrator for the City of Burlington, came to share their different viewpoints and involvement on the topic, as well as how students could take action.

The Elon Votes! team is working together virtually as it pivots its focus to the fall semester.
