Assistant Professor of Biology Jen Hamel gave an invited seminar as part of the Biology Department seminar series on Wednesday, March 22, at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. 

More than 300 students from an 11-county area in central North Carolina gathered at Elon on Tuesday to test their environmental knowledge. 

Assistant Professor of Biology Jen Hamel gave an invited seminar as part of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute seminar series on Thursday, March 2, at the institute on Barro Colorado Island, Panama. 

Professor Janet MacFall in the Department of Environmental Studies will be recognized with the Conservation Communicator Award from the Hugh Bennett Chapter of the national Soil and Water Conservation Society on Feb. 25.

The piece by Samantha DiRosa, associate professor of art and environmental science, titled 'Latitude' is included in the themed exhibition 'Utopia/Dystopia' which opens Thursday, Feb. 2.

Anna Baynes '18 turned to the Student Professional Development Center seeking help with a career path, with staff helping her explore work in sustainable agriculture. 

The award will support "Wildlife Studies: Critical Carnivores," a year-round learning experience that exposes secondary school students to the world of wildlife science through a focus on carnivorous mammals.

These faculty scholars will be provided with relevant sustainability resources and pedagogies through a variety of unique opportunities such as speakers, workshops, field trips, and article or book discussions.
