Elon School of Health Sciences graduates were recognized for research, service and academic excellence.

The 2021 School of Health Sciences commencement is the first joint ceremony between the Doctor of Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant Studies programs at Elon.

Students from the Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Physician Assistant Studies and Nursing programs, along with undergraduate engineering students, shared their research during the forum at McKinnon Hall inside Moseley Center.

The White Coat Ceremony celebrated the Elon Master of Physician Assistant Studies Class of 2022, which has completed its first year of the program and will now transition to clinical training.

Physician assistant students in Elon's "underserved populations" course worked with 20 ABSS middle and high schoolers for the fall 2021 to increase the interest of potentially pursuing a career medicine among young minority men.

Ordering radiologic imaging evaluations is part of the physical therapy scope of practice, but yet not allowed in all jurisdictions. A third-year doctor of physical therapy student, Lewis, won a national infographic contest to help educate people about physical therapy's important relationship to radiologic imaging.

An interprofessional event allowed all first-year cohort students from ABSN, PT, and PA (all programs in the School of Health Sciences) to work in teams, evaluating simulated patients portrayed by administrators, faculty and staff.

The race, now in its seventh year at Elon, was held virtually from Sept. 18 through Oct. 10.

The Golden LEAF Foundation has awarded a one-year, $100,000 grant to Elon University for the establishment and equipping of an augmented, virtual and mixed reality suite in the Francis Center.
