Elon Hillel marks a milestone in the growth of a vibrant Jewish life on campus with services and events tied to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

Students, faculty, staff, their families and community members are invited to join Elon Hillel to celebrate and observe the Jewish holiday of Rosh HaShanah, the Jewish New Year, which begins on Wednesday evening, September 28, and is observed for one or two days, depending on family tradition.

Administrative and student leaders met in McCoy Commons Sept. 27-28 for two forums about recent campus incidents involving racial slurs.

At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, Dr. Spinner-Halev, Kenan Eminent Professor of Political Ethics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will discuss what the results of the Palestinian vote in the UN may mean for the future of Israel and American Jews.

Several Elon University events commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks that changed the nation forever.

In an effort to welcome new students to campus and through the support of an anonymous gift to the university, Elon Hillel this summer launched a pilot project where a trio of student interns reached out to dozens of incoming freshmen with the goal of engaging them in the growing Jewish life on campus.
