The professorships, announced during the university's Opening Day for the new academic year, support members of the faculty from a variety of disciplines across the university.

Founded in 2020, he Power and Place Collaborative is a partnership between Elon, the African American Cultural Arts and History Center and the Mayco Bigelow Center and strives to preserve and present stories from and about the people, places and moments of Alamance County’s Black communities.

Sarah Dawkins ’25, Kenny Mallory ’25 and Miles Vance ’24 were among the nearly four dozen students who shared their research on July 19 at the SURE research presentations in McKinnon Hall.

Ringelberg will participate in the residential fellowship at the Clark Art Institute in Williamston, Massachusetts, beginning in January 2024, completing a manuscript about art genres and genders focused on 19th and 20th century France.

The professorship honors senior full professors for their career achievements in teaching, scholarship, leadership and service to Elon.

Kasim, an assistant professor of history, will join a select program for academics from the U.S. and around the world to enhance their knowledge of Israel studies.

Evan A. Gatti published a book chapter, co-authored with Eliza Garrison, that examines the transhistorical contexts for the reliquary casket of St. Servatius.

Gatti publishes article on the significance of three portraits depicting the German Bishop Sigebert of Minden (1022-1036) in Gesta: The Journal for the International Center for Medieval Art.

Capped by art historian Elizabeth C. Teviotdale’s Art History Speaker Series lecture, Elon students examined rare facsimiles of premodern art and their present-day relevance
