The Broadcast Education Association, the premiere international academic media organization, released its first-ever rankings celebrating consistent student success in the association’s Festival of Media Arts.

School of Communications students collected a total of nine awards in the Broadcast Education Association’s 2022 Festival of Media Arts, an international digital media and broadcast competition for faculty and students.

To conclude their Winter Term study away course, graduate students hosted formal presentations on Jan. 25 to highlight their contributions supporting two nonprofit organizations on the Caribbean island.

On May 17, the evening before their Commencement ceremony, 18 graduate students in Elon University's Interactive Media master's program virtually shared their capstone projects with professionals, faculty and staff, family and friends.

The 18 members of the Master of Arts in Interactive Media Class of 2021 were honored for their hard work and dedication to their studies during the program's Commencement ceremony at Alumni Gym on Tuesday, May 18.

During their May 14 presentations, three student groups highlighted their work with their respective North Carolina organizations: HeARToscope, Terra Cotta Heritage Foundation, and the African American Cultural Arts and History Center.

During the 2020-21 academic year, graduate students Matthew Harrell G’21 and Madeleine Horrell G’21 served as studio managers, ensuring that undergraduate students could broadcast and televise during the pandemic.

Eighteen members of the School of Communications Advisory Board met virtually on April 28 to discuss their professional industries, the impact of the COVID-19 vaccine and what future months will look like for businesses and organizations, and potential changes to the school’s curricula.

Elon will celebrate 2021 graduates through multiple in-person ceremonies with a limited number of guests.
