Inclusive Excellence at Elon

Titch Madzima is creating a deeper understanding of other cultures through meaningful interactions with members of the Elon community.

Campus Pride, a national resource for LGBTQ+ leadership development, diversity inclusion and advocacy within higher education, recently announced Elon as one of the "Best of the Best" in supporting LGBTQIA students. 

The Center for Leadership and the Center for Race, Ethnicity, and Diversity Education are excited to share information about the 2023 Intersect Conference on Friday, September 22!

The task force examined the experiences of API & MENA members of the university community and provided insight into how those experiences could be enhanced.

Cherrel Miller Dyce, associate professor of education and executive director of diversity, equity and inclusion at the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education, Ms. Marlene Harrison-Reid, a teacher with Guilford County Schools, and Deanna Townsend-Smith, senior director at the Dudley Flood Center, facilitated this summer experience for participating teachers.

The director and associate director of Project Pericles at Elon published this work in Gateways: International Journal of Community Research and Engagement.

The report from the university’s Black Lumen Project celebrates the milestones and contributions of Black students, faculty and staff at Elon.  

Twelve ABSS high school graduates were recognized during the symposium on Sunday, June 11.
