Inclusive Excellence at Elon

Vice President for Inclusive Excellence Randy Williams provides this update on work taking place in the Elon community

The event will feature a discussion available at www.elon.edu/live between Hayes-Greene, co-founder and managing director of The Racial Equity Institute, Vice President and Associate Provost for Inclusive Excellence Randy Williams and Stephanie Baker, assistant professor of public health studies.

The Journal of College and University Student Housing has published research led by Matthew Antonio Bosch on college professionals in housing and residence life who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and/or queer (LGBTQ+).

Through Elon’s oldest peer-mentoring program, Student Mentors Advising Rising Talent, the Center for Race, Ethnicity & Diversity Education connects students and helps them find community, guidance and belonging.

The mission of the Board is to support and encourage intersectional and diverse spiritual needs of students at Elon who identify as Black.

The 52-page report includes 13 recommendations for action and 10 stories that explore difficult moments in Elon’s history.

This marks the sixth consecutive year of recognition for the university by the Campus Pride organization.

During the online discussion on Wednesday, Sept. 30, panelists highlighted what it means to be Latinx/Hispanic and the intricacies of those identities

The student-led demonstration brought the campus community together to speak out against racism and hate and call for change.
