Inclusive Excellence at Elon

The event organized by the Black Student Union provided members of the Elon community a chance to come together and advocate for change.

A variety of virtual events this week will be focused on supporting Black students during challenging times.

Vice President for Inclusive Excellence Randy Williams has announced additional steps to make Elon a more equitable and welcoming community.

This is the first in a series of virtual forums that runs through Sept. 7 and will focus on race and policing. Associate Professor of English Prudence Layne organized the forums to strengthen conversation among the community, area leaders, and government officials.

The Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning is pleased to announce the recipients of the Diversity and Inclusion Grants for the 2020-2021 academic year, as well as their project descriptions.

In his new role, Williams will serve as the university’s chief diversity officer and report to President Connie Ledoux Book.

The steps announced Wednesday, July 8, were the first in an agenda to create real change and to put human dignity and diversity at the core of the university community.

The Center for Race, Ethnicity and Diversity Education will host four discussions focused on race, racial injustice and anti-racism during its annual Summer Race, Reflections and Discussion Series.

Led by Communications Dean Rochelle Ford, the School of Communications held a June 11 screening of “Walking While Black” and a community discussion to connect law enforcement, Alamance County leaders and diverse communities through conversation.
