Professor receives NEH funding for religious studies research

The National Endowment for the Humanities has awarded assistant professor Michael Pregill a $6,000 summer stipend to research medieval manuscripts preserved in Russia that may shed new light on the relationships between the Jewish and Muslim communities of the Mediterranean and Near East in the Middle Ages.

Geoffrey Claussen interviewed on “Come and Listen: Jewish Food for Thought”

Geoffrey Claussen, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies, was interviewed for the inaugural episode of the podcast "Come and Listen: Jewish Food for Thought" on the subject of "Love and Death." He discussed the Jewish philosopher Franz Rosenzweig's understanding of the biblical teaching that "love is as strong as death" (Song of Songs 8:6).

Skluts support Jewish Studies program

Elon’s commitment to create a vibrant, inclusive campus caught the attention of parents Eric and Lori Sklut. The couple made a $250,000 gift through the Levine-Sklut Family Foundation to endow the Lori and Eric Sklut Emerging Scholar in Jewish Studies. This endowment will significantly expand and enrich Elon’s Jewish Studies program, which will benefit all students.
