Students in a spring semester English class have published two children’s books and a coffee table book to help support The Conservators' Center, a nonprofit exotic wildlife sanctuary in North Carolina's Caswell County.

The national office of Campus Compact and The Jenzabar Foundation recently announced the awarding of three grants that will create “Best in Class” Student Service Leadership Conferences in 2010 to promote civic engagement and inspire future generations to make a difference.

Bookstock – A one day, outdoor concert at Glencoe Mill Village

Bands scheduled: Green Army Men, The Josh Lambert Band, Whistlin’ Dixie, and the Haw River Social and Pleasure Club.
Tickets:$15 for adults; $5 for 6-15; ages five and under free. Bring a lawn chair, coolers are welcome – no glass, please. All proceeds from this event will support literacy programs for children in Alamance County, including Reach Out and Read and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. For tickets and information:
