A fundraiser to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington and the Multiple Sclerosis Society caught the attention of local media over the weekend, with the Times-News in Burlington and WFMY News 2 in Greensboro covering the event organized by students in a Leisure and Sport Management course.

The Academic Service-Learning Advisory Committee has named Alexa Darby, assistant professor of psychology, as the 2010-2011 Service-Learning Research Scholar.

Elon University hosted Special Olympics Alamance County on Friday as athletes from surrounding communities visited campus for the nonprofit’s annual spring games. Several university students volunteered for the program, which included appearances by Elon Phoenix football players, cheerleaders and the Phoenix mascot.
