Elon team excels at national moot court competition

The Elon Law team of Chantelle Lytle, Jason Senges and Adam Spivey advanced from preliminary rounds to reach the quarterfinals of the William B. Spong Moot Court Tournament at William & Mary School of Law.

Elon hosts ABA Fourth Circuit Law Student Division Meeting

On February 9, Elon Law hosted the spring meeting of the ABA Fourth Circuit Law Student Division. Three Elon Law students contributed significantly to planning this event: David Lambert L'14, who served as a Lieutenant Governor of the Fourth Circuit Division in 2012 and was elected Governor of the Division at the spring meeting, Jenifer McCrea L’13, who served as Elon Law’s student representative to the ABA this year, and Bill White L’14, who served as Elon Law’s associate student representative to the ABA.

Forum on lawyers and pop culture examines legal ethics

On Feb. 7 Elon Law students and faculty were entertained and educated by Nancy Rapoport, a nationally known expert on legal ethics and bankruptcy. Rapoport presented “Lawyers and Pop Culture,” focusing on the portrayal of lawyers in the media and the impact of such portrayals on perceptions of legal ethics.

Coffee and Conversation – Feb. 20

Members of the Elon Law community are invited to the first Coffee and Conversation, a casual and informal social event with no program, scheduled for Wednesday, February 20 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the Weaver Lobby. Along with coffee, there will be hot chocolate and hot tea.

Elon Law scholars engage national debate on ultrasound laws

Professors Scott Gaylord and Tom Molony recently published articles in the Philadelphia Inquirer and Birmingham News examining the constitutionality of proposed and existing state laws regulating - and in some cases requiring - the use of ultrasounds in connection with abortion procedures.
