Leadership Prize

Weird Enough Productions, an education technology company founded by the strategic communications and theatre arts alumnus, is making its lesson plans and activities free for teachers, students and parents as schools close in response to COVID-19.

Tony Weaver Jr. '16 and his company Weird Enough Productions were highlighted in the 60-second Coca-Cola ad that celebrates six African American leaders in their fields.

Established in 2015, the price is intended to support students who undertake research in the community that has the potential to facilitate change.

Nearly two dozen Elon University students and a staff member were recognized for their leadership at an awards program sponsored by Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society. 

The first English Language Teaching Symposium at Elon will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16. Elon faculty, students, alumni and members of the community are invited to join us in sharing culturally-diverse pedagogies for working with English language learners under the symposium theme “Bridging Divides | Creating Community.”

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers research, study, and teaching opportunities to recent graduates in more than 140 countries, with approximately 1,900 grants awarded annually in all fields of study.

English with teacher licensure major Courtney Kobos presented her Leadership Prize research alongside her mentor, Assistant Professor of English Jennifer Eidum, at the National Council of Teachers of English Convention in Houston, Texas. 

The chapter is part of the book "Africa and Globalization: Challenges of Governance and Creativity," published this year by Palgrave Macmillan.

 

More than 50 Elon undergraduates were joined by several from other colleges and universities participated this summer in SURE, one of Elon's signature undergraduate research opportunities. 

The Elon International Society celebrated the achievements of international students at its year-end banquet on Friday, May 4.
