Faculty Ombudsperson Jeff Clark attended a training workshop offered by the International Ombudsman Association.

Professor of Mathematics Jeff Clark attended the Mathematical Association of America's MathFest and as chair of the Committee on Minicourses supervised the minicourses offered there.

Associate Professor of Mathematics Karen Yokley worked with Project NExT Fellows on ideas for using mathematical modeling in various courses.

The workshop, held in San Jose, California, focused on "identifiability problems in systems biology."

Five faculty members were honored on Monday, Aug. 19, for their excellent work in Elon College, the College of Arts & Sciences.  

Ryne VanKrevelen, lecturer in statistics, presented on "Interactive Examples in Statistics Courses Using R Shiny" at the 2019 Joint Statistical Meetings in Denver, CO

Two statistics lecturers attended the United States Conference on Teaching Statistics held May 16-18 at Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania. 

"Peer Reviewed Evaluation of Registered End-Points of Randomized Trials (the PRE-REPORT study): Protocol for a Stepped-Wedge, Cluster-Randomized Trial" was published June 1, 2019, in the journal BMJ Open.

The grant supports a collaboration between the mathematics club at Williams High School in Burlington and Elon. 

Elon alumna, Jaime Speiser '10, assistant professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science at Wake Forest School of Medicine, provided the keynote address at the May 8 awards ceremony for the Math and Statistics Department.
