The professor of mathematics presented at the Mathematical Assocation of America's annual mathematics festival in Chicago.

The department gathered on May 3 to celebrate the accomplishments of its students. 

Six members of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics Faculty attended the United States Conference on Teaching Statistics at The Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania.

The funding will assist A.L. Hook Associate Professor Chad Awtrey and Williams High School math teachers Robin French '15 and Dee Sizemore in providing enrichment activities for talented high school students.

Ralph Mueller ’83, Michael Capps ’99 and Carly Ledbetter ’13 were honored with the 2017 Elon College Distinguished Alumni Awards during an April 27 ceremony.

A total of 13 math majors and faculty attended the 2017 Southeastern Sectional Meeting of the Mathematical Association of America, held at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, on March 9-11.

Peter Jakes '17 is among the recipients of the Lumen Prize, which provides selected students with a $15,000 scholarship and celebrates their academic and creative accomplishments. 

Ryne Vankrevelen and Laura Taylor from the Mathematics and Statistics Department present at the International Conference on Technology in Collegiate Mathematics

Michael Keenan '16, Associate Professor Jim Beuerle and A.L. Hook Associate Professor Chad Awtrey published a research paper in the most recent issue of the International Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics.

The students join a global community of Fellows charged with increasing campus engagement with innovation, entrepreneurship, design thinking and creativity.
