Alan Russell receives grant from the Japan Foundation

Alan Russell, associate professor of mathematics, received a grant from the Japan Foundation's Center for Global Partnership. The grant supports his work, "Origami as a Gateway for the Study of Japanese Culture and Society," allows him to strengthen and deepen his work with Clover Garden School, a K-12 charter school in northern Alamance County.

Faculty and staff honored at annual luncheon

Four faculty members were honored May 12, 2010, for superior scholarship, teaching, mentoring and service at Elon University’s faculty-staff awards luncheon. Those recognized included Eric Hall, April Post, Todd Lee and Jeffrey C. Pugh.

Mathematics major wins prize for research presentation

Senior mathematics major Kelsey Johnson, mentored by James Beuerle, won the Patterson Prize for her research presentation at the MAA Southeastern Sectional Meeting hosted by Elon University from March 25-27.
