Associate Professor of Music Todd Coleman was commissioned to compose a new arrangement of Elon’s Alma Mater for trumpets and organ.

The new Elon University scholarship is awarded to academically and musically strong students who have a passion for instrumental music.

The Elon Contemporary Chamber Ensemble will perform "Unrelent" at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20 in Whitley Auditorium. A pre-concert discussion of the pieces by Elon faculty and community members begins at 6:30 p.m.

Palfy's book, "Musical Agency and the Social Listener," was released digitally on Wednesday, Aug. 25, with the printed version coming in October.

The Elon University Jazz Ensemble will resume rehearsals on campus this Fall. Students are welcome to sign up for MUS-1040-A. No prior jazz experience required.

Coleman, an associate professor of music production & recording arts, has released the album titled “E.V.I.L. Robots” that features some of the music he composed for a new escape game of the same name created in Phoenix, Arizona.

Deadline to complete music ensembles interest form is July 6.

Clay Stevenson, senior lecturer in music, presented "The Live Sound Class; Innovative and Integrative Practices", which outlined steps to introduce live sound concepts with simple exercises focused on organization in the field.

Seventeen months ago, programs at The Elon Center in Florence were cancelled as the city was gripped by the first wave of COVID-19 outside of China. This summer, Elon students are performing with professional musicians in some of the city's first concerts since Florence reopened this month.
