Professor of Music Thomas Erdmann had two articles published in the professional saxophone journal Saxophone Today.

Ralph Mueller ’83, Michael Capps ’99 and Carly Ledbetter ’13 were honored with the 2017 Elon College Distinguished Alumni Awards during an April 27 ceremony.

Professor of Music Thomas Erdmann is a featured expert quoted extensively in an article on the history of saxophone use in pop music just published in "The Outline."

The Elon University Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Instructor Rusty Smith will present its annual Spring concert on the evening of April 20 in McCrary Theatre in the Center for the Arts. A varied program of works made popular by artists such as the Count Basie Orchestra, Oliver Nelson, Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, the Yellowjackets, Chick Corea and others will be presented.

The hour-long concert will begin at 7 p.m. in Yeager Auditorium in the Center for the Arts. 

Elon's large choral ensemble is open to all Elon students.

The Associate Professor of Music adjudicated and served as clinican for the Hunt Choral Festival

Stephen A. Futrell, an associate professor of music, conducted the ABSS Elementary All County Choir. Around 140 students representing 17 schools were in attendance.

The associate professor of music, who directs choral activities at Elon, also performed in concert.

A group of music students led local Girl Scouts in an a music recording and technology orientation, helping the girls earn a music merit badge.
