North Carolina Campus Compact

The 2022 Elon graduate from Garner, N.C., will serve a two-year term on the Elon University Board of Trustees.

Formerly North Carolina Campus Compact, the organization relaunched this summer and detailed a new vision for the years ahead.

Campus Compact has named Lockwood a recipient of a Newman Civic Fellowship, which recognizes and supports community-oriented students and is named for Frank Newman, a founder of Campus Compact.

The award recognizes the partnership between the club and Elon, which stretches back at least three decades and has expanded and evolved to include volunteerism, academic service-learning courses, internship and practicum placements, research, fundraising and advocacy.

Crump is a recipient of the network's Community Impact Student Award in recognition of her work in the broader community.

Duffield is the recipient of North Carolina Campus Compact's Community Impact Award, one of 18 honored statewide. 

For the third-straight year, NC Campus Compact will convene students who are leading non-partisan voter engagement efforts on campuses across the state. 

Participants will explore frameworks and strategies for assessing civic and community engagement.

The annual service-learning conference hosted by North Carolina Campus Compact revisits the “students as colleagues” approach and  includes 40 breakout workshops on various civic and community engagement topics

Representatives from 27 colleges and universities will gather at Elon to explore the theory and practice of “deliberative pedagogy.”
