Elon alumni employees give back and reflect on Move-In Day 2024

Move-In Day 2024 at Elon University on Aug. 23 featured support from 170 staff and faculty volunteers, over 100 Orientation Student Leaders, over 100 Residence Life Student Leaders, all fall student-athletes and their coaches and an additional 174 student volunteers.

Three awarded the Elon Medallion, the university’s highest honor

Elon President Connie Ledoux Book presented the medallion to three longtime leaders at the university in academics, athletics and community engagement during an event marking the start of a new academic year. The university also recognized three named professorships during the event.

Elon math faculty and students attend, present at MathFest in Indianapolis

Ayesh Awad '24, Pagnapech Ngoun '26, Murilo Ferreira Lopes '27, Nicolas Alvarez '27 and five faculty Emily Elrod, Kristen Mazur, Brittany Riggs, Hwayeon Ryu and Aaron Trocki presented at MathFest, the annual meeting of the Mathematical Association of America on August 7-10, 2024 in Indianapolis.

Elon students contribute to local community through Campus Alamance

More than 40 Elon students participated in summer internships throughout Alamance County as part of Elon’s Campus Alamance program. This year, the program placed a strong emphasis on the interns becoming contributing members of the organizations they work with.

Elizabeth Shum ‘27 awarded DeJoy-Woś Scholarship for summer internship

Elizabeth Shum ‘27 is gaining professional experience with her first internship at the U.S. Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C. It’s an invaluable opportunity early in her Elon career, hosted by The Fund for American Studies, and funded by the 2024 DeJoy-Woś Scholarship.
