Issues in Political Economy, an undergraduate research journal
co-published by Elon University, celebrates its 10th anniversary this
year in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, where several students
have used the annual publication as a springboard to graduate studies
in some of the nation’s premiere economic programs.
Elon Colonnades Dining Hall wins award for outstanding design

American School & University magazine has recognized the design of the Colonnades Dining Hall in its 2008 Architectural Portfolio competition. The Colonnades, designed by Spillman Farmer Architects, was among 71 projects receiving outstanding design awards in the post-secondary division.

in recent years to increase the total number and percentage of faculty
in tenure or tenure-track positions.
Elon student named Mitchell Scholar for 2009-2010

University senior Breanna Carrie Detwiler has been named a 2009-2010
George J. Mitchell Scholar, making her the first Elon student to
receive the award since the competitive scholarship was
created in honor of a former United States Senator who helped broker a
peace accord in Northern Ireland.

Four Elon students selected for Teach for America program

Elon seniors Ivy Crank, John Planisek, Lindsay Clement and Chase Rumley have been selected to join Teach for America, a highly selective program that recruits recent top college graduates and working professionals to commit two years to teach in low-income communities across the country. They were among 5,857 applicants in the first of four recruiting periods for the program’s 2009-10 academic year.
Leadership for Lunch helps students with “Finding Balance”
