LSM students raise money for United Way

A leisure and sport management class raised $1,050 for the United Way
of Alamance County by hosting two events in recent weeks.
Hall Family Foundation gift endows scholarships for female students

Helping to make an Elon education possible for additional deserving
students was the motivation behind a $500,000 gift from the Hall Family
Foundation. The gift was made in memory of Margaret “Peggy” Hall, a former Parents Council member and the mother of Gretchen Hall Archibald ’02.
Faculty earn praise at annual banquet

Four professors were honored for superior scholarship, teaching, mentoring and service at the annual faculty-staff awards luncheon on May 14. Those recognized included Jim Bissett, Chalmers Brumbaugh, Brian Digre and Earl Honeycutt.
Campus leaders recognized at ODK awards ceremony

Student leaders from a variety of academic disciplines were
honored May 1 during the annual Omicron Delta Kappa awards ceremony in
Whitley Auditorium and in individual departments throughout campus.
Honors Fellows praised for thesis work

It took some students upward of two years to research and write, but
the effort was not without recognition. Honors Program leaders hosted a
dinner banquet May 12 for seniors who completed an Honors thesis
under the guidance of a faculty mentor.
Elon senior makes gift to endow Safe Rides

He loves Elon University so much that he told his parents not to make
donations to the school. Instead, senior Andrew Bennett
wants to be the one to give back, and this month he made a gift so
generous in support of Safe Rides that organizers have been able to
expand the nighttime program with the addition of a new van.
