ARTS Day in North Carolina this year presented the opportunity for Elon students and faculty to appeal to legislators for support for the arts.

Assistant Professor of Performing Arts Keshia Wall is studying how a West African dance course can help students become lifelong learners of culture and difference.

On Wednesday, April 14, Elon University hosted high schoolers from ABSS Career and Technical Education Center to learn about biomechanics and health careers through student-led virtual activities and discussion. This was the sixth year celebrating National Biomechanics Day after last year's on-campus event had to be cancelled.

Watts is Elon's first performing alum to be nominated for a Tony Award and is Elon's commencement speaker for the Class of 2021

“Aoibhneas” is a full-length contemporary dance created by Hannah Feldhues, a senior with Arts Administration and Marketing majors, dance minor, and College Fellow at Elon University. This production is the final thesis of her undergraduate research project. Mentored by Assistant Professor in Dance, Renay Aumiller.

The university's top undergraduate research award comes with $20,000 to support and celebrate academic and creative achievements.

The production is directed by Assistant Professor Kim Shively and will be available at www.elonperformingarts.com on Friday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m.

With a nuanced portrayal of rock pioneer Ike Turner, Daniel J. Watts ’04 is Elon’s first performer to receive a Tony Award nomination.
