Planning Week

Brandy Propst and Becky Olive-Taylor will facilitate discussions regarding Elon 101 program identity and required course elements.

New faculty will meet with the President, the Provost and with experienced Elon faculty to learn more about teaching and thriving at Elon and to prepare for the start of the academic year.

This is an opportunity for all staff and faculty student supervisors to learn many of the practices and processes involved in student employment.

This program is for ENG 110 instructors who will be teaching residentially-linked courses during the 2015-16 academic year.

This workshop is for those who may teach MTH 110 in fall or spring. While the session will be primarily geared to the needs of new instructors and adjuncts, continuing instructors are welcome to attend. Ideas for first-day activities in MTH 110 will be provided.

The faculty of COR  interdisciplinary capstone seminars will participate in an organizational meeting, including conversation about different capstone projects being used and other pedagogies for integrating learning.  

Faculty advising new students and transfers will meet with advisees. Meeting locations will be provided later in August.

Elon 101 faculty advisers will meet with the families of advisees in the same location as for the advisees. Families of transfer students meet in Yeager Recital Hall.

The New Student Convocation marks the official opening of the academic year and welcomes Elon's first-year and transfer students.
