Pamela Winfield published a book review of Fabio Rambelli’s Buddhist Materiality: A Cultural History of Objects in Japanese Religion (Stanford University Press, 2007) in July, 2010. The book holds interest for students and scholars of Japanese religion, history, material culture, environmental studies and ritual studies.

Toddie Peters, associate professor and chair of the religious studies department, presented a keynote address titled "Accounting for Difference: Rethinking Global Markets in a Postcolonial World" at the Societas Ethica Conference in Frankfurt, Germany, on Saturday, Aug. 21.

Professor Rebecca Todd Peters presented a keynote address titled, "Conflict and Solidarity Ethics: Difficult Conversations on Economics, Religion, and Culture" on June 6 to the College Theology Society in Portland, OR.

Four faculty members were honored May 12, 2010, for superior scholarship, teaching, mentoring and service at Elon University’s faculty-staff awards luncheon. Those recognized included Eric Hall, April Post, Todd Lee and Jeffrey C. Pugh.

Mathew Gendle, an associate professor of psychology, and Jeffrey Pugh, the Maude Sharpe Powell Professor of Religious Studies, gave a poster presentation April 14 at the Toward a Science of Consciousness conference in Tucson, Ariz

Featuring work by top scholars from around the world, Global Perspectives on Science and Spirituality, a new book edited by Elon University professor Pranab Das, has been published with essays on an array of approaches to science and religion grounded in spiritual traditions ranging from Daoism to Eastern Orthodoxy and treating many scientific disciplines.
