Brett Evans ’13, co-owner of Piedmont Biofarm in Pittsboro, gave a talk titled “From Liberal Arts to Local Agriculture: a Young Farmer’s Views on Food.”

An award from the Southeastern Association of Housing Officers recognizes the university's successful efforts in recent years to merge intellectual programs and opportunities with residential neighborhoods across campus.

The students, faculty and staff of the Global Neighborhood Association met Tuesday, March 1, for their monthly House dinner.  They hosted Lenore Braford, who runs the Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge in Pittsboro.

Baker joins Elon from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and will lead the Office of Residence Life in the continued strategic effort to transform the student experience with living and learning at Elon.

Jordan Burnham, a survivor of a suicide attempt whose story on ESPN was nominated for an Emmy Award, will visit Elon University to talk with students about the stigma surrounding mental illness.

To kick off "Phoenix Cup: Waste" this semester, the Colonnades Neighborhood Association and Office of Sustainability will be showing "Bag It" in LaRose Digital Theatre at 7:30 p.m.

The GNA hosted its first house dinner of the spring semester with great food and great conversations led by Steve Moore, lecturer in environmental studies.

Students can apply to live in a Learning Community from Jan. 8 – Feb. 8.

The Office of Sustainability offers programs and resources for students, faculty and staff who want to make a positive impact on the environment by changing behaviors, conducting research and educating peers about the way human activities affect the planet.

Elon students donated their mural competition winnings to support the Global Neighborhood Service Project and a refugee family in Greensboro, North Carolina.
