Deborah Long recognized for her commitment to college access

Deborah Long has been recognized by the North Carolina College Personnel Association (NCCPA) with its Outstanding Service in Support of the Student Affairs Profession Award. Long is a professor of education, director of the Elon Academy and coordinator of civic engagement.

The School of Education held its Teacher Education Induction Ceremony on Oct. 13, 2009, in the Koury Business Center's LaRose Digital Theatre, a ceremony that recognized dozens of students as they take the next step in their path to the classroom after Elon.

Kennedy, who earned her elementary education degree from Elon in 2005, is a kindergarten teacher at North Graham Elementary School. On Wednesday, she was named the Alamance-Burlington School System 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year.
