The symposium took place across four webinars this fall and was organized by faculty members from the Department of World Languages and Cultures.

The four virtual lectures by scholars and activists were coordinated by the Department of World Languages and Cultures, El Centro, and programs of Latin American Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies Program, International and Global Studies, and the Women's, Gender, and Sexualities Studies.

From Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, the university will celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of the Latinx/Hispanic communities to the United States.

Winter Term 2020 will offer students an array of exciting experiences that range from short-term, study-away programs to engaging student-led courses.

The Tuesday, Sept. 17, event will include an on-campus screening of the award-winning film “Walking While Black” and a panel discussion with Alamance County community members and law enforcement leaders.

The second annual Gala Latina celebrated the successes and achievements of members of Elon’s Latinx/Hispanic community.
