Elon University seniors Ryan Pauley and Jackie Sapio spent Saturdays this fall watching ACC football games from the conference’s headquarters in Greensboro, documenting every yellow flag and missed call as part of an internship developed through the Department of Leisure and Sport Management.

The LSM Society managed and staffed the concession operation at the SAS – Champions Tour PGA Golf Tournament in Cary, N.C., at Prestonwood Country Club from Sept. 23-27, 2009, marking the fifth consecutive year that students from the LSM program have worked this event.

Tony Weaver, an assistant professor in the Department of Leisure and Sport Management, wrote a July 9 summary for the UltimateSportsInsider.com titled “Diversifying donor bases - A review of the research.” Weaver will be a frequent contributor to the Ultimate Sports Insider web site as the site has added a new section relating academic research to current issues in college athletics.
