will host Brenda Bergeron of Legal Aid of North Carolina, who will present about
the legal issues facing Veterans and how Elon Law students can become involved in
work to combat these issues.

The student-led Pro Bono Board at Elon Law is pleased to announce Pro Bono Week, October 22-27, featuring events in partnership with local attorneys, American Civil Liberties Union, Legal Aid of North Carolina, the Interactive Resource Center, Women’s Resource Center, Elon’s Office of Financial Planning, Elon Law’s Center for Professional Development and Humanitarian and Immigration Law Clinic, and the following student organizations: ACLU, Initiative for Diversity and Cultural Awareness, Public Interest Law Society and Women’s Law Association.

Therese Bartholomew to speak on restorative justice – Oct. 17

On Wednesday, October 17, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m. in Room 207, Elon Law’s Criminal Law Society, Innocence Project, and Women's Law Society will welcome Therese Bartholomew to speak about her experiences after her brother’s 2003 murder. In 2010, Bartholomew met her brother’s killer in a South Carolina prison, participating in the first victim offender dialogue involving a violent crime in South Carolina’s adult system. The Elon event will include a screening of The Final Gift, a documentary about Bartholomew’s journey. A reception will follow.

Teach-in on Citizens United – Sept. 20
