The American Bar Association Center for Racial and Ethnic Diversity and the ABA Young Lawyers Division announced on May 17 that Elon Law’s student-led Diversity Week won first place in the annual Next Steps Diversity Challenge.

At Elon Law’s April Reception with the Legal Community, 34 students were recognized for significant pro bono and community service, including third-year law student Caitlin Cutchin who was recognized for contributing the most pro bono hours while at Elon with 581 hours logged.

Students advance to international round of moot court competition

Elon Law’s Media and International Law Moot Court Team, comprised of Ben Kempton L’14 and Craig Martin L’15, advanced to the quarterfinals in the Americas Round of the Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, held at Cardozo Law School in New York, N.Y. The Elon team’s performance in the Americas Round qualified them for the final International Round of the Price Moot, to be held in April at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England.

2013 Intramural Moot Court champions announced

Hayley Sherman and John Boschini won the final round of the Sixth Annual Elon Law Intramural Moot Court Competition held on September 30. Genna Petre and Bree Shadrick were the first-runner up team. Shadrick was also named “Best Oralist from the Final Round,” and Michael Costolo was named “Best Oralist from the Preliminary Rounds.” The team of Katie Lester and Mark Henkle took “Best Brief” honors.
