Elon’s #1 ranked study abroad program has a robust set of policies, procedures and rapid response systems to protect and support students, faculty and staff during international study experiences.

David Wong, associate professor of educational psychology and educational technology at Michigan State University, served as guest speaker for the second Global Education Symposium.

The Elon alumna served as the lead editor of “Wildland,” a 2018 film that examines an Oregonian firefighting crew and the challenges it faced during a recent fire season.

This year’s symposium will feature David Wong, associate professor in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Special Education at Michigan State University. Wong’s area of interest and expertise include intercultural competence, global learning, and the impact of study abroad experiences.

The Elon graduate and former news director of “Elon Local News” is one of 10 reporters and producers selected for NBC News’ political embed reporting class, an assignment that will run through Election Day 2020.

During Assistant Professor David Bockino’s Through the Lens of ESPN class, students enjoyed a staggering media tour, visiting ESPN, Fox Sports, SNY, MLB.com and the New York Yankees, as well as sports outlets and athletic venues in Bueno Aires.

Nearly 1,000 students, faculty and staff are participating this month in 31 programs around the globe.

The application deadline for spring 2019 study abroad and Study USA programs is extended to Tuesday, Sept. 18.

2018 international graduates plant their saplings in the International Grove, adding to the inaugural oaks planted by 2017 international graduates.

 

The annual global photo contest drew more than 150 submissions from the Elon community, capturing moments of global engagement all over the world.
