A Sustainability Leaders Mini-Grant provided funding to introduce recyclable plastic containers for a program that helps serve food to the hungry in Alamance County.

The U.S. Green Building Council recognized one of Elon University's newest buildings for its sustainable design and operations.

An annual campaign coordinated by the Office of Sustainability diverted thousands of usable furnishings and food from landfills this spring and into the coffers of regional charities that help people in need.

The Triangle Clean Cities Coalition recognized the university for reducing petroleum use by more than 17,000 gallons over the past year. 

The plan, first created in 2007 and updated this spring with input from campus stakeholders, has 38 objectives across four categories: operations, planning and administration, engagement and academics.
