Students gather at vigil for missing Elon graduate

Dozens of students huddled together at a campus candlelight vigil Nov. 15 to pray for the safe return of Kyle Fleischmann, an Elon alumnus who disappeared in Charlotte six days earlier after a night out with friends. His fraternity brothers are now organizing a carpool to the city on Saturday for a second massive search.

2007 Hometown Heroes exemplify perseverance

“Blessing of the Animals” honors Elon pets

“Tinkerbell” and “Sir Winston” and “Pocahontas” may not have been around themselves, but with owners clutching photos of their beloved critters, the blessing counted just the same. Three dozen people gathered outside Whitley Auditorium on Oct. 4 for Elon University’s annual “Blessing of the Animals” in honor of the Catholic feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
