Elon University’s Board of Trustees has created two special honors in tribute to President Leo M. Lambert and his wife Laurie for their 19 years of service.

Thirty-eight candidates in the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program received degrees Saturday in a Whitley Auditorium ceremony featuring remarks from Dr. Andrew Lamb, vice president of medical affairs for Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center and medical director for the Elon University Physician Assistant Studies program.

The most recent survey also found that nearly half of all voters say the congressional redistricting process is "not fair at all" though many are unsure of the details of the process.

Pugh, the Maude Sharpe Powell Professor of Religious Studies, was honored in fall 2017 as a Distinguished University Professor for his scholarship, leadership and teaching.

This is the second time University Chaplain Jan Fuller has headed the national group, which includes close to 200 members. 

Among medium-sized colleges and universities, Elon ranked No. 16 for the number of Peace Corps volunteers it produced in 2017. Last year, Elon Law launched a new fellows program to help returned Peace Corps volunteers become lawyers. 

The $34,000 grant is from the Colonial Academic Alliance, which seeks to link the colleges and universities that make up the Colonial Athletic Association. 

The annual celebration of Elon athletics is organized by the Phoenix Club to raise money for student-athlete scholarships.

Carducci will provide academic leadership for Elon’s newest graduate degree program, with the inaugural cohort to enroll in the full-time, two-year program this fall.
