The Professional Staff in New Student Programs works to bring the mission to life through engaging leadership opportunities for current students and meaningful transition programs for new Elon students and their families. Emily Krechel is the Director of New Student Programs. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from James Madison University, Master of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Miami University – Ohio, and Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Emily began her career in higher education in 2010 as the Area Director for the First-Year Experience at Earlham College. Following that, she headed west and served as the Associate Director of New Student Services at the University of California, Berkeley for five years. In 2017, Emily returned to the east coast to begin her journey as the Director of New Student Programs here at Elon. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, camping, snowboarding, entertaining at home with her wife, and visiting family in Virginia.

Destiny Payne is the Assistant Director of New Student Programs. Destiny has received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Social Welfare from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois and her Master of Education with a specialization in Student Affairs from Iowa State University. Originally from the Chicagoland area, after completing graduate school Destiny moved to North Carolina, where she now serves as the Assistant Director of New Student Programs. Outside of work she enjoys movies, basketball, time with family, and traveling.

Catherine Little is the Administrative Assistant for Campus Life and New Student Programs. She received an Associate Degree in Office Systems Technology from Randolph Community College in Asheboro, North Carolina. Catherine has previously worked as an administrative assistant with Academic Services and Instructional Support for Randolph County Schools and Chatham County Schools, both in North Carolina. Outside of work she enjoys reading, music, crafts, and spending time with family.

Rebecca Osborne is the Graduate Apprentice of New Student Programs. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Carolina State University. Rebecca is pursuing her Master of Arts in Higher Education. Before coming to Elon, Rebecca worked as the Coordinator of Student and Young Alumni Programs at NC State University, as well as interning in the Office of Parents and Families during her undergraduate studies. Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her cats, and cooking.
