Welcome to Elon! Whether you are a first-year student or a transfer student, New Student Orientation (NSO) ensures that your transition to Elon is smooth and enjoyable. All new students (both first-years and transfers) are required to participate in New Student Orientation directly following move-in.

- Come to Orientation Headquarters in the Moseley Student Center to purchase Family Sendoff wristbands, t-shirts, or to ask our experience orientation staff questions.
- Mail Services is where all Elon students receive their mail, including packages.
- Phoenix Card Services is where you take a Phoenix Card photo (if you have not done so already) and where you can add money to your Phoenix Cash!

All new students will be assigned an arrival/move-in time. This is the time students should arrive at the Schar Center for check-in.

All new students, first-years and transfers, are assigned a unique time for them to come to campus for their Schar Center Orientation Check-In and to move into their residence hall (if applicable). This time can be found in the student’s Acorn Account. During this centralized check-in experience, you will receive your orientation materials, Phoenix Card, and residence hall key (if applicable).

In this keynote, Tim Mousseau leads a deep and vulnerable conversation on the delicate topic of sexual violence, drawing from his original research, personal experiences, and years of advocacy. Tim provides resources to communities that allow them to facilitate productive conversations around sexual assault, assists in the survivor recovery process, and shares how the power of personal and community action can be utilized in prevention. Students will leave feeling empowered to create a culture of compassion while realistically facing an issue prevalent on campuses across the country.

Students who took the assessment online prior to Monday, August 26 can find their initial placement in Test Summary in OnTrack for Students. If students feel that the placement is too low or too high, during orientation they may choose to take the assessment a second and final time in person. (If students need or prefer to take the assessment the first time in person, they may do so during orientation.) Bring personal laptop and student ID to complete assessment. Please sign up 24 hours in advance for the in-person assessment by clicking “Make An Appointment” at the bottom of this web page.

Stop by the Gender and LGBTQIA Center to learn more about our initiatives. All new students, first-years and transfers, are assigned a unique time for them to come to campus for their Schar Center Orientation Check-In and to move into their residence hall (if applicable). This time can be found in the student’s Acorn Account. During this centralized check-in experience, students will receive their orientation materials, Phoenix Card, and residence hall key (if applicable).
