New Student Programs, in partnership with the Office of Parent Engagement, recognize the vital role that family members play in their student’s successful transition to university life. It is important for parents and families to gain knowledge and develop skills that will reinforce a sense of family support in their student’s education. To achieve this, you are encouraged to attend our virtual family orientation program in August. Students may experience transition throughout their years at Elon. The resources listed below will help enhance families knowledge and skills to help coach their student through their collegiate journey.

Summer Welcome Events

The Office of Parent Engagement sponsors events nationwide, designed and hosted by current Elon parents, for incoming parents and students to welcome them to the Elon family!

New Student Orientation for Families

New Student Programs is excited to welcome families to Elon University! Our office would like to acknowledge the important role families will play in their student’s successful transition to Elon. Transitions are always challenging, whether students are coming to Elon from high school, another college, or the workplace; here at Elon, NSP strives to provide students and families with the support they need to make a smooth transition. The Family Orientation program is separate from New Student Orientation as families and students have different needs and questions about the college transition.

Family Weekend

Elon welcomes all family members and friends to return to campus to visit with their students and participate in the many scheduled events during this special weekend in the fall.
